Funny Pages Podcast Issue #12

Well, well. Here we are again and are all you listeners in for a treat. The guys are back with an extra long, extra special Christmas New Years holiday extravaganza. The guys start off with a little not so secret Santa. Chris must have been giving a lot of elf sized hand jobs lately judging by all the great loot he scored.

For the reviews, Chris takes a look at the latest mutant team up squad in Uncanny X-Force #3. Find out about the latest X-Force battle against a prepubescent Apocalypse. Anthony has relatively comic new comers Charles Soule and Renzo Podesta's tittle 27. You guys might not be able to get your hands on a copy until the second printing comes around. So be sure to check this out.

Then they guys rank the top and bottom of comics this year. See how your favorites compare to the guys as they talk writers, artist, limited and new series, plus more.

Bonus Stage!!

Oh hey, we forgot to post this pic last week, but here's the reason for our re-examination of the Poison Ivy vs. Harley Quinn debate. Take a nice long look and let us know what you think...

Bats and Supes... true professionals

Funny Pages Podcast #11

Well I'll be damned. Look at this. A show posted well before the midnight deadline. No joke, this show was the quickest edit job, but is pack full of content.
We've got two new comic shop reviews off the top of the show to go along with the news.

For this book for this issue the guys take a look at two great titles. Anthony dives into the first issue of a four part series named for and staring the baddest mother fucker in Asgard: Loki. Chris has been sitting on this title a little while, like a mamma bird making sure the egg is ready hatch. He breaks down the unnamed mercenaries of Image's hottest selling new monthly SkullKickers #3.

What to do, what to do? We thought long and hard about what to talk about for the third segment, and we came up with a classic good olde fashioned (so olde it's spelled with and 'e') who's the better super hero. Chris and Anthony debate the merit of the marine warriors Aquaman and The Sub-Mariner.

Be sure to stick around for the end while they wrap things up by talking about the conclusion of Supergod and Shadowland.

Be sure to check back later this week for a little audio treat from the boys. They'll be shooting for Thrusdayish.

Funny Pages Podcast Issue #10

Alright, let's get this issue of the Funny Pages Podcast underway. Sorry about the lateness, and we're racing against the clock, and slow processor speed of a crappy laptop, to get you this show by Wednesday.

For the books, the guys have books which involve two men who everyone should base their life upon. One stars the one and only Boba Fett, and the other is written by the great Alan Moore. Anthony highlights some of the more fucked up parts of Moore's latest comic Neonomicon, while your vice-host/host Chris talks about the latest Star Wars four-parter Blood Ties.

As promised, the guys bust out a brand new 'Who'd You'd Rather'. This time the guys pit two of X-men's finest benders of reality with a break down of the sexual attributes of Ms. Emma Frost and Mystique. You didn't have to be told, but it gets real weird real quick. Enjoy. Oh and don't to forget to vote for this, and all our past 'Who'd You'd Rather' on the side bar of our blogspot page. We know you listen and you're a perv. We look at your browser history. Don't feel bad.

Come for the blog, stay for the cast

Hey there favored fans,

Chris here, I came to apologize for our show being late but I see that Anthony has beat me to the punch. I had to work all day Sunday and then decided to take a nap in preparation for that eve's Venture Bros. season finale (you can hear me praise it more on the show). I didn't quite factor in just how long of a process editing can be (Anthony is bit of a perfectionist and he likes to edit out his loud breathing noises which is why some of our shows sound strange).

Anyways, the episode will hopefully be up tomorrow night and I already think it's one of our best, although I generally judge the success of our shows based on how grumpy they make my co-host/sound tech/lovely assistant. Hope you all have a happy Turkey Day and make sure to share the show with your whole family. At least they'll probably stop talking to you.

No Show Till Tuesday

Due to Chris being an asshole, no show today. But it has already been recorded and will be up tomorrow for all of you to enjoy.

Alright Kiddies, editing time.

Love Luck and Lollipops,
Anthony

P.S. If you see Chris, punch him in the face for me.

Aquabats & RBF

Anthony here.

First off, HOLY FIST FUCK! Chris actually posted something again. Like he said, we went to a killer show last night. If you follow us on twitter, which you should, I posted one pic already. I've got a couple more for all the cadets out there.

I can't believe Chris and I actually got on the floor and mixed it up again. God damn we are old. I'm still sore and my Asics still smell like sweat. I know some of the pics are blury, but hey they're from my phone, and we were there and you weren't so that's the best you're going to get.

One last thing. When I got back to the gf's place guess who was on TMZ. That's right. The Bat Commander himself along with the rest of the crew.

Don't pass up the video of The Aquabats fighting one of their many acrh-nemesis.

This Week's Awesome

Hey there loyal listeners, Chris here.

So we’re gearing up for our next show and I’m super pumped about all the great books out there to choose from right now. I don’t want to play my whole hand just yet, but Ultimate Thor is just one of the awesome new Marvel books that is really impressing me.

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

Reallly, it’s pretty hard to screw up the hard-drinking, hard-fighting, and only-occasionally crossdressing Thundergod, but Johnathan Hickman and Carlos Pacheco really hit it out of the park (although my fingers are crossed for an extended bout of flyting to come yet). All I can say is frost giant Nazis. If that doesn’t spark your interest, I just don’t know why you read comics.

I think I’ll save the rest of it for the show, but I have to put it on the record that I’m totally jealous at Anthony’s review this week. It’s a book from one of our favorite writers that the both of us have been looking forward to for a while (I’ll give you all a hint… Magick).

Ultinate Doom looks pretty sweet too... in my head.

Oh, and I hope you’re all keeping up on the Walking Dead TV show on AMC. It’s got the seal of approval from both Anthony and myself, and wasn’t this week’s episode awesome?!

P.S. We went to a killer awesome show tonight, check out our twitter page to learn more!

Funny Pages Podcast Issue #9

This is, by far, the best sounding issue yet. With that said, maybe not the best produced. The new mic came with some new software, and it was a bit laggy, especially towards the end. But be sure to listen in to this very special (almost) ALL DC ISSUE because it's still awesome.

Chris cracks open the much talked about Superman Earth One. DC's Twilight Man of Steel might be new, but is it improved? And Anthony has the pubescent team up book suggest by listener Hell Is The NightSide: Teen Titans #88

No one is quite sure which picture is sexier, or what they have to do with the show, so you'll just have to listen in and find out.

Funny Pages Podcast: The Walking Dead One Shot

Here it is as promised. We've got our review of last night's premiere episode of "The Walking Dead". Let's just get this out front. It's AMAZING. That said, be sure to still check out the episode as the guys take apart the first episode and compare it to the other staples of zombie lore.

Since it's Halloween, you need to have some sort of scare. Well here it is: Chris. Cover your children's eyes before they melt.

Halloween Comics

Anthony here-
I always forget, but then quickly remember how much I love Diesel Sweeties come Halloween time. The daily web comic puts out great stuff year round, but the late Autumn dress up runs really high light RStevens's comic nerd art and humor.

Side note: he is also a super cool guy and let me buy a couple of t-shirts with a check back before I was old enough to ruin my credit.

Side Side Note: I might not have thought too highly of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, but I was super excited to see the Pixel Skull Tee make a cameo. Hope sales saw a little bump cause this guys is really great.

Happy Halloween Everyone.

Funny Pages Podcast Issue #8

The new show is up and hold on to your Saran Wrap and rubber bands. For this episode the boys talk a little more movie news, but not just about capes. They preview the new Grant Morrison Doc "Talking With Gods".

On deck for the reviews, Anthony kicks things off with the new Marvel five part limited series Carnage. While your host Chris looks at some of the DC Universe's lesser know villains in Secret Six #25 & #26 in the new arc "The Reptile Brain".

What does the third block hold? Well we can't really say, but this picture should say it all. How can you not listen?

Funny Pages Podcast Issue #7

We're back after our little break, and we might be a little bias, but this is without a doubt, our best show ever. Chris and Anthony highlight some of the bigger stories emerging out of the New York Comic Con weekend. Then the guys break down the new DC animated feature Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. When you pick this up, be sure to check out the accompanying Green Arrow Short too.

For the books, Chris reviews the new monthly hit S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury? No. Leonard Da Vinci? Hell yes. Anthony breaks open the new Marvel one shot-Fantastic Four in … ¡Ataque Del M.O.D.O.K.! M.O.D.O.K. has never looked so good.

For our third block...well... Let's just let the picture do the talking. This is by far our most
misogynistic episode to date, but in a good way, a really, really good way. Trust us. You know when someone ends with 'trust us' it's going to be messed up.

Funny Pages Issue #6

The new episode is up and waiting for you. They guys have movie news for you, and talk about what's on deck for The Batman. Of course, Chris makes fun of Kevin Smith, and Anthony is a bit grumpy.

But we all know what we're here for, the reviews. Chris takes a gander at Marvels new run of Namor: The First Mutant. You know what would make the Submariner better? Vampires. Yeah that makes sense. Anthony has a stack of of Hack/Slash. The popular horror books just wrapped its first series for Image.

And we also have our first video game review. Anthony Picked up Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. It's definitely one of the better Spidey games yet, but does that make it any good? Listen and find out.
